The White Truffle Alba (Tuber Magnatum Pico) is an underground, non-cultivable mushroom that lives in symbiosis with certain tree plants. It grows deep in a depth that can go from a few inches up to the meter in association with broadleaf (Poplar, Tulle, Querce etc.) in Clay soils, often along watercourses. It can be of various shapes, from flat to flat, and has an ocher yellow ocher (peridio) wall with a light foliage (gleba) lined with brown veins. The characteristic and unique perfume of Tartufo da Alba makes it a forbidden dream and a passion for all gourmets.
There are many species of truffles, but the White Truffle found in the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato is the most precious species ... (go to Truffle Guide).
